Hinderer Rescue - Serrated, Sheath
It took a fire fighter with a genius for knife design to conceive this feature-rich rescue knife. And Rick Hinderer did himself proud. Hes integrated some of the most important features a fire fighter will need. Even while wearing turn-out gloves, using this knife will not be an issue. The knife has larger, beefier features and mechanisms built-in. This is no ordinary rescue knife.

Excellent tool. Used at many road traffic collision. Cuts through cables and wires effortlessly when removing doors or batteries. Seat belt cutter and window punch also excellent extras. The fact that the tip is blunt is also a great design as a sharp point isn't required for the purposes of this knife.
I was on a job and a guy's leathers had to be cut off. A paramedic was using $100 leatherman shears. The ACO on the other leg was using a $4 pair of shears. They both had trouble and both took the same amount of time. They both STOPPED at the waist band. The strap cutter on my knife went straight through it. I won't be buying the leatherman shears.
I guess Shawn hadn't realised that this knife was made for paramedics or search and rescue technicians, so that the point won't cut people who's wounds need tending to; hense the name.
This is a great knife for both jobs. Love the dull point cause when having to cut clothes to expose wound I didn't have to worry about further injuring someone. Didn't have to use the seat belt cutter to cut seat belts but was good to open MREs
Great knife only issue is tip of blade is not sharpend. After costing $100 to come out of box needing more is crap would recommend the hinder over this one.
own it use it everyday love it, only draw back the seat belt cutter it hard to sharpen but you still have a big safe blade when it gets dull. love gerber own five with no faults.
